A forerunner in online information on responsible finance, Novethic, an offshoot of the Caisse des dépôts consignations, has been producing studies and publishing information on socially responsible investment and corporate social responsibility since 2004.

HOW DO YOU MERGE TWO SITES INTO ONE AND ENSURE MARKET CONTINUITY?

A victim of the obsolescence of its original technologies, Novethic had to urgently merge its 2 sites, one open to the general public, the other a paying site reserved for its subscribers. The agency needs to offer a completely new subscription and sales system for its various information products – articles, studies, analyses, etc. – and to promote its training courses, with online management of quotes, invoices and payments. Thousands of subscribers must regain their rights and access when the new site goes online. We also had to maintain a high level of traffic, which sometimes peaked at 150,000 visitors a day!


HOW DO YOU REPUBLISH 10,000 ARTICLES, 1,000 DEFINITIONS
and 60,000 IMAGES WITHOUT LOSING VISIBILITY IN GOOGLE!

The challenge is all the greater in that the site needs to promote new packaged offers including access rights to content, studies and training courses, and a system of discounts based on subscription level and number of subscribers.

Tailored professional offers are also aimed at groups (Circles), prescribers (Agencies) and educational establishments (schools, universities).

Lastly, the solution should make it possible to sell audit and consultancy services on an ad hoc basis, to support certain companies in their initiatives, up to and including Novethic certification.

In addition to the usual techniques (Htaccess, 301, etc.) Adgensite has developed a system for generating URLs identical to the previous site so that the relaunch does not affect the ranking of pages and content that have historically been well positioned in Google.

Adgensite also managed adaptive views for the mobile versions of the site, to adapt the legibility and display of the very many entries and navigation functions.

Some major customers buy subscriptions for their teams and need access to training, studies, etc. You need to create negotiated offers with discounts that can be integrated into the online Quotation, Signature and Payment process. Or offline!

Adgensite has developed an online platform for generating offers, enabling these offers to be generated and signed online or offsite, and integrated into the merchant system after validation andon-the-fly allocation of rights for all registered subscribers.


A SITE THAT IS NECESSARILY VERY GREEN AND RESPONSIBLE!

Novethic’s business requires it to produce an eco-responsible site. Adgensite has proposed a unique partner forhosting the site: Neutral IT.
Not only does it offer server heat recovery rates of 96%, but it has also become a leader in the field of digital heat heating, whether for heating water in residential buildings or swimming pools!

For the site, Adgensite also chose to apply the Eco-Index guidelines of Green IT, the group of experts behind the digital sobriety, responsible digital and eco-design initiatives: 155 good technical practices, some of them very demanding and complex. 108 out of 115 were implemented, more than most projects of this type.


ORCHESTRATE THE PUBLICATION OF 15 CONTENT CATEGORIES AND THEIR VARIANTS.

The site deploys 15 content categories, divided into 11 headings, with display tags for each type of content and format (Infographics, Podcasts, Video, etc.)

The classification rules are not just chronological, but follow a matrix of mixes between news types and formats, promoting training courses, studies, newsletters and events. Display management tools allow the editorial team to modify the auto-generated matrices manually and at will.

SUCCESS AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT.

After 6 months and a period during which traffic fell off, which is typical of a redesign, the new site returned to record levels of traffic, approaching 2 million visitors over the following 6 months, and the success of one article pushed the site to a single-day record of 169,000 users. In addition, the subscription system with online quotation and payment made it easier to deal with individual customers.


The website and extranet are based on the WordPress Woocommerce CMS, with a large number of specific developments in PHP. By 2025, it will have 11,000 pages in French. It manages à la carte subscriptions for 8 newsletters and 3 types of email alerts, and allows subscribers to access various settings and historical sales data via a customer account.

The agency has developed specific, simplified tools to enable NOVETHIC to generate and publish articles, studies and training pages as products , simply and simultaneously. The site also benefits from API connections to various third-party services (YouSign, SalesForce, Digiforma, Brevo, etc.) .
